GnuCash, the free personal finance manager, is heading towards a new stable
release series. Beta packages are released now every other week, and the
final release 1.8.0 is scheduled for December 8, 2002.
A whole lot of new features have been added: Small business accounting,
Scheduled Transactions, HBCI (German) Online banking, and many more. This
increased the size of our message catalog considerably (2600 compared to 1600
strings). We would kindly ask translation teams to work on this new release
series, so that GnuCash can indeed be the GNU way to manage your money, in as
many languages as possible.
GnuCash-1.6.x already offered complete translations for the following 13 (!)
languages: da de es_NI fr hu it ja pt pt_BR ru sk sv zh_TW
The GnuCash pot file is on cvs.gnome.org in gnome-i18n/extra-po/gnucash/. Note
that the GnuCash source is not on cvs.gnome.org but on our own server
cvs.gnucash.org. Also note that we've created a glossary for the accounting
terms used in GnuCash. It can be found in the directory
gnome-i18n/extra-po/gnucash/glossary under the name gnc-glossary.txt.
