there is only the samba sever when those errors were recorded.
maybe the nmbd is incorrectly listening to her own broadcast.

wasn't that functionality replaced by wins? I never needed to understand 
NETBEUI (M$) and NETBIOS (IBM) stuffs. Was very impressed by Novell IPX,
