It's true.  With a 255.255.255.0 netmask, 203.45.128.78 isn't in the
same subnet as 203.45.129.44.  To get that to work, you need at least
255.255.254.0.  As for the funky error, that's strange.  The netmask
isn't near "netmask" but after the device....  Odd...  I would use
ethereal or tcpdump and capture this traffic if you are up to it.  Then
send it on.  From the sniff, we should be able to get an idea of what's
actually happening.
