Have a small problem with a friends machine that i have tried to setup broadband access.
Essentially I can ftp to the dce-server also ifconfig has an entry on eth0, but I cannot use the net or ping any addresses. So the link exists but the network is broken, correct??
On boot a message is diplayed:
error:
sbin add -net 203.45.129.44 netmask gw 203.45.128.78 dev eth0 255.255.255.0
route netmask does not match route address
/var/log/localmessages:

Oct 23 13:36:18 linux dhcpcd[3012]: DHCP_ACK received from bcr3.qld-remote.bigpond.net.au (61.9.208.13)
I have also attached /var/log/messages for today's startup.
What is it that I need to do to complete the network to bigpond broadband.
I am using Suse either 7.3 or 8.0 and Bpalogin with special auto startup script by Douglas Hunley.
I did notice that the IP address assigned was different to that assigned when using windows.
