RH 8.0 X server reconfig problem...

Only one line in the /etc/rc.d/rc.local  file , and its this...

touch /var/lock/subsys/local


When I change directory to /var/lock/subsys/local, I see
the following 0 byte files...

anacron crond    keytable netfs    portmap  sm-client xfs
apmd    gpm      kudzu    network  random   sshd      xinetd
atd     iptables local    nfslock  sendmail syslog

God, I hope not.  That would be a real pain in the 
ass to trouble shoot.

Yes.  I lose the console at run level 1 as well.


Tell you what, I've got a old labtop that I can do a simple
reload. I'll try the RH 8.0 disks on it and eliminate the
issue of the RH 8.0 installation disks once and for all.

Then I'll reply back in after I finish with it.  Then go after
the desktop one.
