TrueType Fonts: Installed but can't use

I seem to have TrueType fonts installed on my box(es).
I have edited my /etc/fonttastic/config to point to these fonts.
I have restarted my fontserver.
My XF86Config has my font server listed as a source of fonts.
But, with xlsfonts, I don't see any listing of these fonts.
And, I can't access these fonts with convert (ImageMagick).
What am I missing?
