Delighted to see you here! I hope I can be of help to some folks. I've even
gotten to be as close to an expert on Master Documents on OpenOffice.org
1.0.1 around. Not many people use them, but I needed it for my book.
I've also learned a few other things, so I hope that experience is of use. I
also hope to get some help from others as I play further with my system (BTW,
I've given up on the Puretek TPF560 as even on Windows, it is erratic and
sometimes the standard init strings won't work -- waits an undefined amount
of time -- from 5 seconds to 5 hours -- before agreeing to dial). I've seen
lots of horror messages on the "new" V.92 modem standard, even when written
specifically for Windows. Sigh! It sounds so good!
So I'll actually put some money out for a good modem.
Hope to have some fun on this list. Also hope to turn some Lycoris users on
to it.
