Mozilla upgrade breaks links

I upgraded from 1.0 to the latest stable, 1.0.1.  Now, all my links for Java, 
Adobe Reader, etc. are broken.

Being not real good at this stuff, I tried to fix my java link by doing:

ln -s /usr/lib/j2re1.4.0/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji140.so 
libjavaplugin_oji140.so
 It returns:
ln: `libjavaplugin_oji140.so': File exists

But, Java isn't working.  It is sellected to be enabled under the 
Edit/Preferences/Advanced/Scripts and plug ins menu, but I get the old you 
need a plug in message.

Also, it no longer loads Acrobar REader automatically.

Any suggestions?
