Folks,
My brother has laid an onerous task upon me...
Compile and install JFFNMS (http://jffnms.sourceforge.net/) for him on some
Compaq server hibernating in some hosting shop over in the UK.
I have the compile bit down fairly well i.e. the PHP and rrdtool graphiz stuff
all works together I think.
My question is where can get some pointers to SNMP setup under Linux. JFFNMS
sends out SNMP queries or what ever to devices and I would like to know a bit
about it so that I can tell when JFFNMS is playing up or is it the SNMP
enabled device.
If anyone out there is using it in anger I would be well interests to hear
your experiences.

PS. What are peoples opinions of compiling verses package installation? Is it
better to compile or just throw rpms at a box?
