FYI there is another good ripper 'vobcopy'.
look at vcdimager http://www.hvrlab.org/software/vcdimager there is a user
manual too. afaik you have to have the vobs split into 2 files .cue and .bin.
But also see http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/VCR-HOWTO-4.html.
Next the Mjpegtools howto also gives a great deal of tecky on svcd and vcd
get this from http://mjpeg.sourceforge.net.
