Chinese language Linux distro?

For the distro junkies out there:

We may be needing a Chinese language Linux distro soon. I imagine that
it means that the GUI is Chinese. (I have seen Chinese command line
extensions, so this is not as clear cut as one may think.)

I did a search and did not turn up anything like I expected. Lots of how-Tos
on getting Chinese characters to work. There is a Chinese translation
project, but it seems it has been quiet for a bit.

I recall that the Chinese government has gone for Linux and that there was a
distro. Oddly, the search did not show this. I also looked at Hancom, as
they are in that neck of the woods. They do have a nice looking Arabic
Linux. It is KDE3-based, whihc supports RtoL and Unicode.

Any pointers? Wasn't there a Chinese box of Caldera 2.4? I seem to recall a
picture of the box on their site. I think the installed stuff was still not
Chinese.
