Mixing LPRng and CUPS?

It surely must be. After all, if a winders box can send a print job to the
computer, then this must be less an issue.
Maybe try having the print server make the printer available via Samba, and
then have the client boxes access the printer via samba, which they access
vis whichever local printer management system is installed (LPRng or CUPS).
Also, when it comes to network printing, I think there are two prominent
protocols; SVR5 and BSD. These have verious names, but it must be possible
to see which protocol LPRng and CUPS use as their network protocol.
