maxtor drive issue

Perhaps I've just been lucky but I've had no problems with three maxtor
drives I'm using.

One came in a used IBM system.  There was a 40GB unit with WinXP
installed.  I blew away XP, installed Redhat, and later added a new 60GB
maxtor 7200 UDMA133 second drive.  All went so well that I went out and
bought another maxtor UDMA133 7200 60GB drive and stuffed it into a new
Dell as the primary drive and moved the original 40GB IBM to be the
secondary drive.  The system also runs Redhat.

Are you really sure it's the drive and not the controller that's hanging
up the SuSE install???
