This list is often used to sort out problems, and it would be easy to get
the impression that linux is nothing but trouble.
But, tonight I was really amazed at how well everything really works on
linux.
My daughter decided to work on her Kaplan GRE CD upstairs on my computers
instead of hers downstairs (she saw a flying pincher bug or whatever.)
So, she sits at computer #1, which is a linux box. This box logs onto
computer #2 as an X server. Computer #2 runs win4lin and so provides
computer #1 with a windows environment. Computer #2 has no cdrom, so
Computer #2 uses computer #3 as a application server to run the Kaplan CD.
And, it all worked, the first time she tried it. Even got sound. (on the X
client, computer #2).
So, I got to say, it works.
