After reboot, what happened?  Did it try to boot into eD24?  Did it give a GRUB error?  What?

I do recommend you using COLW3.1.1

> Installing e-desktop 2.4, onDell Pentium4. I used Partition Magic 7.0 to partition hard drive. Iinstalled with CD. at end of install screen askedto make rescue disk. I complied and window came up with warning."Could not copy kernel to floppy" I clicked O.K. Then finish and Error note came " No init found. Try passing init=option to kernel" 
> left Alt-F2 and F3 would not let me enter anything. Though I didn't know what to enter I was going to try something. I had to use Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
