Linux Support for SGI MIPS computer

HI All,

I have the possibility of getting my hands on a Second hand but still
reasonably well performing SGI MIPS computer.  I have had a quick look
on Google and it seems that there is some support for porting some
flavors of Linux across to this platform. The pages that I visited
indicated that support was still a work in progress.

I was wondering if anyone has had any personal experience at installing
any flavor of Linux/BSD on these Mips boxes ??
