Xfce Customization - Where?

OK, I was a big dummy.  The xfwmrc file goes in ~/xfwmrc not in
~/.xfce/xfwmrc.  I got confused, because they supply the default
optionis in /etc/X11/xfce/xfwmrc.

Now here's the rub.  You can separate the taskbar from the panel, and
it stays separate, but

1) Either you start with both panel and taskbar open.  You can
minimize the panel and cause no icon to be created on the dektop.

2) Or you start with both the panel and the taskbar hidden.  Then you
most right clock and select the taskbar.  After that, business as
usual.

Not totally ideal, but acceptable, expecially if you don't boot very
often.

BTW, in 3 years I haven't encountered a single bug in xfce/xfwm.  Just
a few little wrinkles like this one.
