And for something completely different, check out the freeswan list where 
anybody can post.  And quite frequently does.

I heard this topic commented on, in other lists also.  Presumeably the 
gentoo list's behaviour is the correct one.  You know, as smart as we are 
on these lists, you'd think we could come up with something nifty that 
would make this problem trivial.  From a user point of view, of course.
