He probly did. I ran into this problem when I was running COL 2.4 and I
upgraded to XFree 4.01. 3.3.6 didn't work well with my video card. I
don't really know what causes it. I'm running mandrake now and I don't
have that 'Virtual' line and I don't have the problem. Go figure.
