E-Server 3.1.1

Well. installed eServer 3.1.1 on a system. At the kde startup
we get a blank screen & not release to a virtual consol. But
I can ssh over to it as root, and get in. The other way is
to set runlevel 3 boot and work in virtual console. Go figure
this out. The install went very nice, just noi desktop. It
does go to the inhternet too. I need to setup for ftp and telnet
and get xfce no kde here.  Going to be a Gateway Router webserver
for my home office. I do have a small question for David Bandel
or one of our resident Guru(s_. I am going to set machine up as a 
gateway router & webserver from outside/inside, iusing two nics here
one is dhcped to dsl modem & the other is internal network, but I also 
want a outside to inside vpn where I can and a select few others can
log onto my network. I know I need to recompile with iptables & netfilter
or some such, but need to get more info on vpn's.
