  Remove the drive, install new drive into system. Now Install, I do not use
XP nor to I view it on any system. I do however have a Server here for SQL Server
& software development. Now I also have a 2nd drive with linux on it. I plug in
the 
drive I need.  Life is better that way, I do not beleive you can slave on a
laptop.
