kde and qt are a pain in the butt on any distro.  I've been watching
the messages fly by (broken, fixed, etc.), but it hasn't become stable
enough that I wanted to try it again.  You need to monitor (or
subscribe) gentoo-users on a regular basis to figure out what works
and what doesn't.
