Tips or Tricks for working with a Linux Laptop in a Windows NT enviroment- Request for help or advice

Hi All,

I have managed to persuade my work to allow for me to have Linux as my
operating system on my laptop, and I have convinced them that this will
still allow for me to do my job as before. I am hoping that some one
here can give me a link or a pointer to some resources that will allow
for me to get up to speed on Linux and Windows operating and integration
as soon as possible.

My laptop has Red Hat 7.2 on a A20M thinkpad. Nice machine.

I will be wanting to log on to a Windows nt4 domain, access network
shares and printers.

I have installed Red Hat 7.2, with Samba and Palm support. I am
downloading Java 1.4, and open office. At a later date I will be
wanting to make a HP PCMCIA CD burner work with this laptop and also a
Zip drive. I will probably want some help with kernel compiling and how
to put the mount statement in the fstab file for a PCMCIA device ??

I have put the latest version of Ximan gnome so I can use the mail
client evolution, I have heard it will work well with the work exchange
server.

For any appllications that need windows I have a copy of Vmware that I
will put on, but my quest is to be able to replace windows as much as
possible and hopefully completely, and learn linux by using it at work
and at home.

I have been an occasional Linux user for about 1.5 years, but I have had
to at work always use Windows. I will sincerely appreciate any help or
guidance that anyone might be capable of offering to help me personally
replace Windows on my laptop.

Thanks and Cheers for now
