Frankly, I wouldn't give you a nickel for anything this guy writes. :^)
The book is now ancient by Internet standards, however, a lot of the
basics don't change. Don't, however, look for an update anytime soon.
Today's tech publishers fall in the same category as the RIAA (IMHO). And
they didn't hold up their end of the contract -- they (the publishers)
were supposed to promote the book. Their idea of promotion is shipping it
to a bunch of stores to be put on the shelves. But for the first year
this book was in print:
most places carried it as Out of Stock
those that did have it had the description from Using Caldera OpenLinux
(and they never updated it)
there were more, but those were enough.
If I get time, I may write again, but I'll publish it myself on my web
site in PDF and make two versions -- a free version, and an expanded
version that won't be free. Then, if I never sell any copies, it's my own
fault.
