KDE3 compile partial failure

I Knew That (tm).  OK, I tried adding 
--x-includes=/usr/X11R6/include/freetype2/freetype
to the configure script.  I saw that dir scrolling by somewhere,  but 
still no go - same error -ftsnames.h not found.  Thanks for responding.
