W32/Klez malicious code
The CERT/CC has seen an increase in the number of reports of a piece of
malicious code known as W32/Klez. W32/Klez spreads via email and open
network shares. When spread via email, W32/Klez attempts to exploit a
vulnerability which can cause the system to be infected by simply reading or
previewing the message (see CERT Vulnerability Note VU#980499). W32/Klez may
disable anti-virus products on the affected host, and may corrupt files.
Several variants of this malicious code have been identified.
For more information on W32/Klez, please visit the sites listed on the
Computer Virus Resources page.
The best advice is to tell her not to use outlook.
After all, this is just one of many.
