SUSE 8 - Problem with /dev/fd0OK

You *don't* reinstall an OS to read a floppy disk.

The problem, i'm rapidly concluding, is that you don't know the 
filesystem on that floppy.  Odds are, if its not ext2, its going to be 
msdos.  So, try msdos as the filesystem type and see if that works.  If 
that also fails, then i think you should just format a random floppy and 
then attempt to mount it.  PEBCAK.
