I have met the young Danish gentleman who did the XFS conversion to Linux for 
SGI. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. If I could figure a 
way that CGI could use him, I'd hire him in a heartbeat.

He works in Ottawa, here, and he spoke at our LUG, giving us an absolutely 
compelling two hour Cook's tour of all the file systems including the 
strengths and weaknesses of each. He knows personally the author/editors of 
each of the other file systems and, based upon what I have seen and heard, I 
would be extremely surprised if XFS wasn't rock solid.

He described IDE as only suitable for home use... and then only if you don't 
care if you lose your data - he was a SCSI man all the way, which is 
consistent with best industry practices anyway. I got the impression that he 
viewed ReisersFS as a halfway measure not suitable for enterprise use. He had 
some issues with the current iteration/port of JFS, saying that it wasn't all 
there for Linux yet. I can't recall his view of ext3.
