avifile make problem

For most of what I want there are no rpms available and I cannot compile them.
Avifile one I did get did not laod the libs and the was no devel rpm. If 
anyone has a rpm of Linuxvideostudio, libaviplay and libavcodec that works 
and installs on Mandrake 8.1 terrific.
