Hi All.

I've downloaded (at work) the 100 MB iso for Gentoo
1.0 to avoid downloading it from home (dial-up).
Reading the install instructions from their site, I
still have a doubt.

I want to buid everything from scratch. So, I
understand that I will never use the Stage 3 stuff.
But, it is not 100% clear that if I go through the
Stage 2 stuff I will have all my packages recompiled,
to the same level of optimization as someone that is
installing from the 'Net with a broadband connection.

I read that Stage 2 is somehow restricted to i686, but
it shouldn't be a problem since that is my PC's
architecture.

Does anyone know?
