Just a $.02 observation. After you get this resolved, store away a copy
of your XF86Config(-4) on floppy or even a printed copy. That way when
you move on to a new distro, you don't need to play Russian roulette
again. I strip out all the extra comments and keep a printed copy in a
folder with my other vital data (lan setup, etc.).
