Yahoo and Kmail

I gave up on kmail for this reason. There is a bit of info on the KDE Kmail
site about this. It seems there are a number of ways this authentication
works.

This is what the KMAil FAQ states:

6.18 My SMTP server requires authentication. Does KMail support it?

There are two common techniques used for SMTP authentication:
"SMTP after POP3" and "SMTP Auth". "SMTP Auth" is currently not
supported. To use "SMTP after POP3" you have to collect all your
mails in the outbox and send them just after you have fetched new
		mail.

I don't know which Yahoo uses. Perhaps you could try the "SMTP after POP3"
method.

I just know that my mail server at home does not wotk with kmail...
