That's what I thought.  I couldn't find the tar SRPM on my Red
Hat 7.1 CD set so downloaded it from Red Hat's ftp site.  I built
that on Caldera OpenLinux 3.1, and that solved the problem.

I took a quick look at comparing diffs between 1.12 and 1.13, but
there was far too much for me to dig into, particularly after
getting the Red Hat package, rebuilding it.  This took a bit of
tweaking for Caldera, but not a lot.  I've since rebuilt the
modified SRPMS on OpenLinux 1.3, 2.3, eServer 2.3, eDesktop 2.4,
and Workstation 3.1.
