Shadows on my screen: Monitor or card?

A *really* easy way to determine if this is videocard or monitor,
without having to swap any parts is to take a screenshot of the
offending part of the screen.  If the shadows appear in the screen shot,
then its the videocard.  If they don't appear, its the monitor.

BTW, my money is on the monitor.
