Sound troubles from runlevel 5 (was Re: Adding window managers)

It WAS working, though. I DID post to a KDE newsgroup, but no one

Well, it's tough to get remote X sessions to work properly when X isn't 
running...
Actually, it's a reasonable solution if I were the only user of the 
machine, but I'm not. It's used by my 2 sons and my wife. Each of us 
remotely login to it from my sons PC on occasion (which is upstairs in a 
heated environment rather than in the cold basement ;-))
