I love stories like this. If I may be so crass (and OT) to add my story:
I went to the midnight Christmas Mass, as I usually do, but for the first
time in a long time, I didn't go alone; I was accompanied by my fianc?. The
moment reminded me tangibly of the true reason for the season; I still have 
an inner glow from the experience of sharing that moment with here.

That's enough sappy sentimentality for this year.
