Not that's less arcane, no. The command sets are different.

Heavens. What I thought was "stoopid" was complaining about vi's failure
to adhere to some standard that emerged after vi was written and
after millions of peole had learned the existing (utterly obscure)
interface and command set. I didn't think it stupid that you don't like
vi. I *do* think you need to learn to use it because it's an extremely
common tool.

What's a mailing list with out a vi versus all the other editors religious
war? :-) I wouldn't take it personally. I will note that people express
contrary opinions and see those _opinions_ savaged here all the time. It's
much less common for the person expressing those opinions to get savaged.
It happens, of course, but I don't think it happened here. I could have
missed the odd post in this thread, of course.
