despite having made fun of it, it was scarcely something very worrisome. 
just did a quick calculation and determined that it added up to the 
equivalent of less than one-tenth of 1 percent of the real spam that 
tried to get in here during the same period. in fact, it was in total 
less than a tenth of a percent of the spam that tried to get in some 
hours!

if anything, it's nice to be reminded that i'm not the only one who is 
not perfect. well, not perfect *every* day . . .
