'vi' is driving me crazy

Bill Joy was at Berkeley when he wrote vi originally.  Perhaps the Berkeley
politics rubbed off on him, after all, they do seem to think that they
should be telling everybody how to live and what's good for them.

There are extensive macro and key mapping capabilities in vi(m) that can do
pretty much anything you want.  I tend to stay away from them though since
I work on a wide variety of systems, so prefer to use the vi standards
rather than depend on a bunch of customizations.
