At this moment in my life my motivation to defend RH/Fedora is low. Very
low.
It is arguably no better or worse than any other bleeding-edge /
rapid-release / rapid-obsolete distro.
It has something no other distro can claim: mindshare and marketshare.
Go to any bookstore and see what the books are written about. At my
Books-A-Million there were 20+ books on or about RH/FC, 2-3 for SUSE, 1
for Debian, none for Gentoo (ahem), none for any others.
I have however decided their "forklift" upgrade method is not workable.
When even the author of the upgrade tool (yum) discourages you from
using the very tool he wrote to do upgrades, then there is no
alternative but the disk-in-hand method.
And their lack of a true, unified repository is a severe weakness.
I like Fedora. I want to use Fedora. But the last 72 hours have shown me
that I cannot stake my meager livelihood on it.

are welcome to sue SCO.
