I'm running 2.6.9 (FC3), listening to a Tori Amos MP3 on XMMS (1.2.10)
at this very moment. Sounds just fine to me. Perhaps >2.6.8 has
eliminated any earlier sound problems with 2.6.x kernels <shurg>
