Choppy Sound Production in Linux 2.6

I believe that this can be blamed on ALSA.  Seems that ALSA has a few too
many options, and turning them on will pick up interference on unused
channels.  Firre up alsamixer, and mute all channels but what you need to
hear music, and see if that helps.
