up2date is redhat's official update tool, and only checks official Fedora
RPMs, from Fedora repositories for updates. yum does what up2date does,
plus can be used for unofficial Fedora repositories with additional
packages not included in Fedora proper.

Sure it does. WHen installing you must type:
linux xfs
and then xfs is an option.
