SuSE's latest readme suggests that with the 6111 driver reinstalling the
driver is no longer necessary every time the kernel is updated. This is
great news since I don't reboot much and when I do have an occasional
power outage or realize that my SCSI scanner wasn't powered on at
boot-time, I don't have the time to dork with finding the driver and
reinstalling all the time. Most importantly I don't feel comfortable
leaving the people at my church responsible to figure that one out. I
was just about to write a script which checks at each bootup whether the
driver is in the latest kernel. Now I shouldn't have to.
Good luck!
