grandchildren, Alex Brody, Evan Brody, Katie Brody, Matthew Brody, Brendan<br>
McGuigan and Tyler McGuigan.<br>

Herbert was a graduate of Hendrick Hudson High School class of 1960. He<br>
married Victoria 62 years ago this month.<br>
<br>
He learned the heating and air conditioning business as a technician at<br>
Lakeland Merit Armstrong. He soon became the guy who was able to fix the<br>
units that the other technicians had difficulty fixing. After a few years,<br>
he started his own business, repairing and installing oil boilers and air<br>
conditioners for the next 20 years. He became a teacher at BOCES,<br>
instructing new students in the heating and air conditioning trade for<br>
several years.<br>
<br>
Herb and Vicky purchased the most dilapidated buildings in Verplanck and<br>
with the help of his family, they renovated them into some of the nicer<br>
buildings in Verplanck.<br>
<br>
He was an avid student of World War II all his life. His children claim<br>
that he has watched every TV documentary on the subject.<br>
<br>
He learned to cook by watching Food TV programs. He and his son-in-law, Ken<br>
Brody, developed a rib recipe that was better than anything from any BBQ<br>
joint we ever visited.<br>
<br>
His wake will be held at Carter's Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 PM and<br>
7-9 PM, followed by cremation.<br>
