I have seen a slowdown on Win10 machines in regards to the way it looks for Windows updates. One of the options has it looking on the local network for the update files. I turned off that feature, and it sped up the machine considerably. I am not in front of a computer right now, but it is found where Windows Update settings are. Maybe under Advanced. Just a suggestion. The slowdown is real. This may be the reason:

Nancy,

I have not seen a slowdown when switching from win7 to win10.

Might I suggest that the following be checked:

1. Performance of the NIC (insure that the latest driver is installed)
2. Any anti-virus program that may be running
3. Has any additional hardware been added since moving to Wion10?
4. Were any of the computer upgraded to Win10. If upgraded; how was the
upgrade done? Clean install or upgrade? There was software available to
allow a Win7 machine to be upgraded to Win8 directly.
5. Not sure if this matters, but are they using cat5, cat5E or cat6 cables.

A bad NIC can cause issues with network performance. I had this issue at a
client site and it took a while to pin down which computer was causing the
issue. They had a spare new computer which replace the one with the bad
NIC. As the NIC was part of the motherboard, they elected to scrap the
computer rather than install and new NIC card. This client keeps 2 or 3
extra spare computers for situations such as this. 99% of the computers
either run filePro or UPS Worldship.

It may take some time to locate a single computer with a faulty NIC as the
issue is sometimes not apparent.

Are any of the Win7 computers still available? If so, put it back on line
and see if it is having the same issue.

The only other area to consider is the Win Server installation. I know of
Windows Server 8,12 &16 but not a Windows Server 14.
