<br></div>I never thought one could simply do that since OS install is based on MB architecture and what not ... I am not upset since my SCO box is working and I have successfully printed from within my filePro application.<br>

One other thing to look at would be a marginal power supply.<br>
Printing and a backup would hit system resources just a bit harder. A marginal power supply might cause reboots in cases like this.<br>
I've had that happen on multiple PCs, although never on a UNIX/Linux server. But the effect would be the same.<br>
<br>
Run the memory check as I think someone else mentioned, remembering that memory failures may also be caused by marginal power.<br>
Make sure you haven't lost a critical cooling fan.<br>

One more point is as it gets to "login" prompt after rebooting, it goes<br>
through boot cycle again. Not sure why but if I let it boot by itself, it<br>
is less likely to reboot before it gives me a "login" prompt - When I go<br>
through the motions of pressing ENTER and CTRL-D, it reboots after pressing<br>
CTRL-D.<br>

I am in trouble I know, but how/what can I do to at least get a clean<br>
backup?<br>
