Went to Best Buy and purchased Apricorn cable. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I installed the software which came with the drive but it couldn’t find the drive. I then used the software which came with the Apricorn cable. This worked fine taking just under 2 hours do a sector by sector cloning of the hard drive. It moved both partitions. This is almost idiot proof as the software is very clear as to which drive to select to be clones and to where you are cloning. The software provided would work in Windows, booted from the CD. (For Windows, instructions for MAC’s is provided) . <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>With my ThinkPad, I removed one screw and the drive cover to get to the drive. Procedure took less than 5 minutes to swap the drives and boot the computer.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The boot time is just under minute until the computer is ready to use. I no longer have to wait for everything to load after the desktop appears. Programs open almost instantly. The longest delay is the initial bootstrapping before the OS starts.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Since the drive is not mechanical, I expect that my battery run-time will be extended.
