Rick, I do something along the lines of:

file_4="S:"{bksl{"FPTEMP"{bksl{getenv("user"){"_BOTH_"{1{"_"{3{"_"{2{".pdf"

It pulls the user id and the values in fields 1, 3 and 2

(bksl is just a declared variable to hold the backslash character)

then instead of what you have after the /F, I just send it to file_4

On Thu, Mar 1, 2012 at 11:12 AM, Richard Hane <yoresoft@sbcglobal.net> wrote:
We use fpODBC network 16 user and Print Wizard ver 4
Printer def: rickpdf, printwiz, v:\
set pfpostprint=C:\Program Files\Rasmussen Software, Inc\Print Wizard 4\printwiz /fpDF://V:\rickpdf\

When reports are run the above produces the expected pdh file and the popup window displays the pdf file name as rickpdf and allows the user to change it to what ever name they want. This is fine for most apps.

My question is: how can I (in a couple of the apps) allow the user to input a unique documnet name instead of rickpdf or have fp set a new name based on data in one of the fields?

Thanks in advance
