<DIV>Not sure if this is going to be helpful to you but I am running
Network fp 5.0 in a Windows 7 (64bit) environment, on a
Gateway DX-4831 (intel(R) i5 CPU, 8 gig of Ram. filePro
runs great in 3-4 sessions, I was going to say it haul’s as_
but not sure if that will anger the list censor..... I don’t think I did
anything special when I installed fp on this machine. </DIV>

<DIV>Subject: Windows2008R2 and filePro </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I'm sure this question has probably come up before. I have a client of
a</DIV>
<DIV>client, he has 5 workstations sharing a drive containing filePro 5.0.0.9
and</DIV>
<DIV>Java 1.6. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>For years they were using Windows Small Business Server 2003 and
everything</DIV>
<DIV>was running fine. They recently upgraded to Windows2008R2 (64-bit). </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>When one person is running the program, the speed is slower than
before.</DIV>
<DIV>When more than one is using it, it slows to a crawl. Their IT guy has
run</DIV>
<DIV>diagnostics and says that the server is hardly being tasked.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>So, my client wants to know if this is a question of having to upgrade
to</DIV>
<DIV>64-bit filePro. The IT guy of course thinks so, since "64-bit servers
aren't</DIV>
<DIV>meant to run 16-bit programs".</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I don't see the logic behind this unless the server is doing
something</DIV>
<DIV>stupid in order to be backwards compatible with 32-bit I/O calls. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Any suggestions?</DIV>
